The Department of Energy (DOE) creates efficiency mandates that manufacturers in the heating and cooling industry need abide by. It’s happened to boilers, heat pumps, furnaces and, most recently, water heaters. It was just a matter of time until conventional circulators come under the DOE microscope. Here at U.S. Boiler, we’re taking early action. Starting soon, our cast iron boilers will ship with high-efficiency, variable speed ECM (electronically commutated motor) circulators in place of conventional circulators.
