I had a heating system annual maintenance scheduled between 8am - 11:59am. Jalen arrived at 8:15am which was wonderful. He completed his tasks, then I showed him a leak I had on my hot water heater. He told me he wasn't able to repair that, but he will call it in to have another technician to fix it. Less than an hour later I received another call from Albert. He arrived looked at the problem and fixed several issues. They were both great and very professional. I'm very happy with Home Serve.

My boiler was making a weird noise. I have a service contract with Homeserve made appt and they showed the next day and fix the problem. Worth every penny with the contract no out of pocket expenses other than the initial contract price. What peace of mind. Highly recommend. Not to mention they service the boiler once a year with the contract. Pays for itself. The rep that showed up knew the problem immediately fix the problem and was on his way. Said if it weren't for the noise that was different we would have been without hear glad it got done!

I am 100% satisfied. They maintain and repair my gas heater perfectly. I had a water main break. They had a repair company at my home within an hour. They paid 100%. A famous plumbing company was here and tried to talk me into letting them do the work. They tried to convince me to pay them then HomeServe would pay me. No. HomeServe pays them for everything. Don't be ripped off. They gave me a bill for $10,000. This is a great company. Thank you for your time.

I had an excellent customer service experience with last service call requesting a no heat complaint. The tech arrive on time, replaced the blower motor and I had a follow up because the motor malfunctioned, The new motor was ordered and replace d the next day. The Call Center reps were very professional and knowledgeable of my service issue and quickly reconnected with the dispatcher to arrange the new appt . I have made two repair requests to HomeServe in the past 60 days. The first was a repair to my water boiler. It was quickly repaired at no cost, even though I did not have an agreement in place. All fees were waived upon me taking out a maintenance agreement for 12 months. The cost was less than what the repairs would have cost me. I then called again because the ignition switch for my heating unit failed. HS came arrived as scheduled and performed the repairs at no cost.I went back to HomeServe after paying another company $4,000 over two years. That National company failed miserably at performing covered repairs as promised.For the price, HomeServe plans are tops and the same holds true for their field service team.Happy Holidays!

I have several home repair/maintenance contracts with HomeServe. I've had to use them several times in the 10 years I've had the policies. I always got a truthful diagnostic of the problem and a thorough repair. I've had a water heater replaced and 3 calls for boiler malfunction... all at no charge. I was skeptical when I first bought my home protection. Now. I am a 100% HomeServe fan. Best, affordable coverage you can get!

Recently I had a very good experience with homeserve. The expansion tank of my boiler started leaking. I've been paying for the service monthly for several years now and I must say the fee goes up every year and I really never used it except for some maintenance cleanings so I didn't know what to expect when I called for service. I called in the evening and after dealing with some AI nonsense a human picked up and they scheduled an appointment for only 2 days later. The repairman came on time and diagnosed the problem immediately. He replaced the expansion tank, put on a new valve and was finished within an hour and it didn't cost me anything. I was very happy at that point that I had this service. Only reason I didn't give it five stars is because like I mentioned previously the fee is going up every year and I believe it has doubled monthly since I first started. I believe it's at $34 now a month. It seems to be worth it

Have been HomeServe customer with Heating&Cooling plan for more than 10 years. The main benefit is the peace of mind I get (although the price of it went up considerably, from under $400/year when I signed to about $600/year now). Last Saturday I woke up to discover that heating system has failed. Called HomeServe around 8am and got repair visit scheduled same day from noon to 4pm. While there was about 40 minutes delay with Technician arriving around 4:40pm, he fixed the problem (pilot thermocouple needed to be replaced) within less than 30-40 minutes, well in time for me to host a dinner with my friends at 6pm. Technician Matt was knowledgeable, diligent, and courteous, a pleasure to deal with. Earlier this year I also had a maintenance visit in summer, and also an AC repair visit. In both cases 5-star service.

Homeserve did a great job replacing my 20 yr. Old leaking water heater. They were quick to respond and within 24 hrs. Replaced it. The price was fair and the installation top notch. The two techs worked hard to insure the installation would exceed expectations. They were both very professional and detail Oriented. Overall a great experience and I would recommend them for all your HVAC needs.

We have a service contract with HomeServe. There was no charge for the repair. The service tech was very knowledgeable, professional, and very nice. The repair was the replacement of a part needed to fix our hot water heater. He was pleasant, efficient.and went out of his way to get a part that was not on his vehicle. I recommend HomeServe totally.

The Installation of the new equipment was masterfully done. The technicians were extremely professional and courteous. They were neat and respectful of the property. There was an issue with a damaged part that took a few days to have shipped but the install manager Tim made every effort in his control to make it a priority to get the part installed. Gary, the representative that provided me the quote, was fantastic and also helped with directing me on who to speak with to get status updates too. Everyone went above and beyond and should be commended on their efforts to provide quality service.

HomeServe is good when it comes to repairs.The first person (Brain) they sent out to do a tune up wasn’t that great on check the boiler and doing a full tune up.The second guy that came was extremely good. He knew exactly what to do, when to do and how to do. He was more knowledgeable about the system and what needs to be repaired. He repaired what needed to be done and gave me a lot on info on what I need to do during the winter to have the boiler working properly.I’m thankful for the homeServe service.Highly recommended

I have been using them for 3 years now for my boiler / heating plan. I think it’s a very good deal with the plan for the tune up and repairs that are included in the plan.I have an old house with an old steam boiler that has needed a number of repairs within the last 3 years. Not every technician was great in my opinion, but most were. Especially Thomas and Pablo were exceptionally great, and they are always a pleasure to deal with and have always successfully performed the repairs. Five stars for HomeServe, Thomas & Pablo. Because of them, I also purchased other plans with HomeServe.

Have used them 5 or 6 times over a 12 year period, while under a service contract. They fixed the problems expeditiously and professionally. It’s good for piece of mind, to have them on those cold winter nights, just in case. I would definitely recommend a service contract with them.

Called by 12 noon, was given a 4 hour window on the same day. It took a little longer but he came after calling that he was very close, arrived when out of his way to clean the filter and light sensor and hot the system to work. When asked questions on my system answered them with good advice. Keep up the good work. Have a service contact so mo billing.

It is critical that your new HVAC equipment be installed properly by the contactor without cutting corners and with great care. I had a great experience with HomeServe for the replacement of one of my two ducted central HVAC systems. ------The HomeServe team was honest, very knowledgeable, and completed the job with precision, timeliness, reliability, and great care. --------I was very impressed and satisfied. ---------I also have several service contacts with HomeServe's other division and am extremely satisfied with that too.--------For the details and my reasons in this review, please read on. The senior sales associate brought an extremely experienced and technical supervisor with him to look over my existing set up and speak with me before preparing any proposal. They visually inspected the existing equipment set up inside my home and outside. They even took measurement of the inside attic while scoping the area. Throughout the entire process and after the proposal too, they did not pressure me in any way. I had also brought in two other contractors for proposals. It was not only for pricing but their suggested installation and equipment specs. The approach and lack of detail by the other contractors were very disappointing. I happily engaged HomeServe. --------I am fortunate that I have a good understanding of both ducted and ductless systems; familiar with how they work, their relative efficiencies and costs, understand air flows, and more. I likely have much more knowledge than the average homeowner, although not near a contractor's knowledge of course. This does make it easier for me to ask the right questions and evaluate the proposals and the installers better. However, the process takes time, and diligence to find the right contractor. There are several options for equipment, depending on your particular wants, needs and budget. However, i think the contractor is the most important.

My furnace didn’t respond to the thermostat. So I checked the pilot light and didn’t see any flickering light. Then I called Home Serve telling them that I thought the pilot light was off. They were able to schedule a repair appointment on the same day. Peter showed up about 11am. He checked on the pilot light and it was on. But then he found something wrong with the electrical sensor. He got the replacement parts and installed them. He also brush cleaned the furnace tubes. The furnace responded to the thermostats properly. Peter was professional and knowledgeable. I was very happy with the results.

I have a “Premium” maintenance contract with HomeServe for my boiler. I pay the (substantial) monthly premium because (my thinking is) if my boiler stops working on the coldest day in January, (that’s when these things happen) I’ll get priority service. Whether this is accurate or not, I do not know. I make an appointment in September every year for an inspection and cleaning. They sent “a guy” to do this. Right from the get-go I could tell he was a novice. He had a problem with the pilot light (working/on) when he shut the boiler to inspect/clean it. It took me THREE TIMES to explain to him - there wasn’t a problem with the pilot light (before he shut the boiler)…. AND I explained to him, I was having a problem during the summer, with heat coming up in one of my three zones. HE wasn’t (qualified) to make that repair. ANOTHER (four hour) appointment window wait. That gentleman (seems) to have diagnosed and repaired issue. IDK. I’ve been using LILCO, National Grid, HomeServe (WHATEVER they’re called then Vs. now) for this service for thirty+ years. It just seems (to me) the techs are becoming less knowledgeable. It’s PROBABLY just the times we’re in…. I want/need a similar contract for my two split-units/duckless A/C units but - I’m nervous/concerned that they don’t have a quality guy and will screw up my Mitsubishi system…

Had my burner annual tuneup, tec was excellent did a great job, noticed one small issue and had someone come over to fix. Had to install new part on water heater which was 100% covered. They showed up within 15 minutes. The contract is well worth the peace of mind that equipment will worked well throughout winter. Thank you

When something goes wrong with your system, you will have a tendency to panic. One phone call to the company and they understood my dilemma and dispatched a repair man immediately. Upon his arrival, he already knew the details to my problem and was prepared to repair it immediately. I could not be more satisfied, and relieved and happy that the repair man was so knowledgeable friendly and he explained everything step-by-step as he repaired the problem. The fast response saved me thousands of dollars in damages and now my system is up and running perfectly and I can’t thank them enough for their excellent service.

The tech who repaired my AC unit was outstanding. He was professional, friendly and explained everything.Unfortunately, the customer service representatives were the complete opposite. They placed me on hold and after 15 minutes I hung up. The second customer service representatives was extremely rude when I asked to speak to a supervisor and said to me there are none around sorry and disconnected me. I then called to cancel my service and at that point the representative asked if she could help and she did . When the tech Joe arrived he was outstanding and fixed the issue in less than 15 minutes. I’ve used Homeserve for years and will continue because their techs are the greatest. They need to work more on training their customer service representatives

I have a service contract this year with Homeserve. I had no hot water on Sunday night, I called first thing Monday morning and was given an 8-Noon time slot. Jason called at 10:30 and arrived just before 11am. He replaced a number of parts which controlled the gas pilot. System works great and I am very pleased!!!

It took about 4 minutes to make the appointment. I called at around noon, had an appointment for 4! The tech showed up early, and the AC was fixed in 15 minutes. He even cleaned out the unit for me. Highly recommend.

My elderly mother's house's central AC stopped working right before the heat wave and I was so glad that I signed up for HomeServe a month earlier! I booked a service call via phone, the tech came on time and immediately fixed the AC! I had called other AC techs since it was urgent, but they all charged ridiculous prices even before knowing what the issue was. Anyway, HomeServe is a godsend and I am so grateful for their honesty and outstanding service! I just wish I had signed up with them many years ago!

I recently had a HVAC system installed in my home and garage and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the entire process from the initial Consultation to installation everything was handled professionally and efficiently. The technicians arrived on time every step explained clearly and answered all my questions. They worked quickly, respected my property and made sure everything was cleaned up before they left. I appreciate how they walked me through how the New system works and gave helpful tips for maintenance. Since the installation, my home is more comfortable, and I already noticed the difference in air quality and energy efficiency. The temperature stays consistent in every room. After a slow start (discussion on where to enlarge an opening access to remove old and hoist the new air handler into the attic), the work proceeded and was completed in a little over one day. Our gas burner was leaking water and we called Home Serve immediately. The repair line was very helpful and scheduled an appointment that very day. The repairman called that he was on his way and we couldn't believe he would be there at 8:30 AM. Roy was very respectful and took his time to find the problem. He repaired everything that needed to be fixed. However there was still a problem after he left. We called back Home Serve and Roy came back out the next morning and fixed the minor problem. I am so glad we have a service contract with Home Serve.

The techs had to come in 3 times to fix the problem with my furnace/no heat at home. Third time was the charm. I think it was a learning moment for the tech that had to come twice. He assumed that it was something wrong with the thermostat's clock. Fixed it and 2 minutes later, he was out the house. My only suggestion for him was to make sure that the system is working before he rushes out of a customer's home. Other than that, the wrong was made right and for that, I give them 5 STARS. Happy I had this service in place when we lost heat recently. They came within 12 hours of calling. They order the part for my rare forced heat unit and installed it 48 hours later (as soon as it arrived). I payed no additional costs because the piece was covered, and not only was I happy but I was warm!

Our Homeserve representative was courteous, Asked us a number of questions and went right to work to resolve and reinstate our heat. He worked both inside as well as went outside to clear any debris blocking our vent. My first floor heat was not working due to the Blower not working.The Website does not have a proviaion for "Emergency appointment"T soonest was 24 hours later.Pipes could freeze by that time.When I called customer service, I was given an appointment for that night.The Tech arrived 15 minutes later.After he confirmed that the blower motor had burnrd out, he replaced the motor with one he carried on his truck. The repair was completed and the heat was working again.The person on the phone to schedule this was very helpful and responsive.The Tech was a Pro.The repair was done very quickly and the problem solved!

Our technician Peter arrived within the hours promised to diagnose our erratic temperatures in our house. With the current sub zero temps outside, this needed to be addressed ASAP. He was courteous and friendly. He first made sure our boiler was functioning properly for our gas-fired baseboard heating system. Since the boiler was ok, he next checked our thermostat which we suspected wasn’t functioning properly. It was indeed faulty and Peter then went out to his service truck and returned with a replacement thermostat which he installed quickly ( see picture). This service appointment was quick, smoothly done snd so smoothly done we figured it took maybe just a half hour. Thank you.

Been using HomeServe for years (heat plan), always great mechanics. Way easier than finding a plumber quickly if there is an issue. I switched at one point to a competitor, big mistake they told me to find my own plumber and submit the bill. HomeServe is no nonsense. I assume their A/C and plumbing leak coverage is just as good.

Friday evening my thermostat was not working. The heat was on but I couldn’t change any temperature settings. I called HomeServe, the representative said that the thermostat was covered and arranged for a technician to come over early the next morning. The technician arrived during the scheduled time frame, confirming the thermostat was broken and arranged to have a new one delivered to him at my house within minutes. The replacement was done in a very short period. The technician was polite, dressed neatly and quickly got my heating system working properly.

I called Home Serve at 1PM; explained gas burner pilot light would not stay lit after following instructions inside burner cover. I was given a service window of 4pm-8:30pm that day and immediately received an e-mail confirming the appointment.PSEG-LI Service Engineer Anton called from in front of my home at 4:08pm, introducing himself and announcing his arrival.He was polite and professional. Anton asked me to explain what the issue was and listened while I spoke.He explained that it was very likely a failed thermocouple, while pointing out its location.By 4:30 he had replaced the thermocouple, showing me the failed unit; and had the furnace in fine working order.I am very pleased with the responsiveness and efficiency of the service visit.

My central air conditioning condenser wasn't going on. Home Serve came and tested it and determined the issue wasn't the condenser. The technician then went into the attic (through a very small ceiling opening in a closet) and quickly realized the issue was a clogged drainage tube. He had the right tools needed to clear out the clog and the air conditioner is working perfectly again. I'm so impressed and pleased with Home Serve, their technicians are great! They know how to analyze a problem and fix it, and do it quickly. I rely on them for all my heating and air conditioning needs.

I was at first worried about these service contracts but I couldn’t be happier. They tuned up my boiler and the guy was very nice and helpful. (I believe his name was Gio). He noticed a problem with an expansion tank and sent over another tech the following week, after helping me with a dryer which he didn’t have to do. The next technician was also great, and it was all covered. I highly recommend homeserve.

We have 4 home serve waranties, which we bought a few years ago when we had a major plumbing problem. Well this last weekend our water line from the street broke! No water. I immediately called HomeServe and the agent was wonderful. He listened to my issue and explained the process. As it was late on a Sunday service would need to be Monday. I had a text and call back Sunday night that the repair team would be onsite Monday. Boom - Monday morning they were onsite to review the issue. It was more severe than they thought so another plumber was called in, and we had water again. Homeserve kept us apprised via email, call and text and were wonderful.

My opinion of HomeServe is definitely mixed. They have a mix of people who probably don’t care much and they have people who will do their utmost to accommodate ones needs and get the job done. Carmine, Christine - both of whom are in management were as helpful as they could possibly be. Their sales department (Comfort Specialists as they are euphemistically called) is less than stellar and their management didn’t appear to give a hoot about the customer (me) as long as a sale was made. Any time a tried to speak with anyone in sales I was brushed off as if spending several thousand dollars wasn’t something that possibly might require some thought or question. My “Comfort Specialist “ was patronizing and and really unpleasant to deal with. When I asked to work with someone else I was ignored. Also, once the sale was done he ignored my calls after telling me that installation was a different department. The installation department claimed otherwise. Customer service does the best they can but obviously are quite limited in the scope of what they can achieve. The two technicians, Kato and Jason, who removed my old broken system and replaced it with a new compressor, furnace, blower and air intake worked cleanly and efficiently. The arrived promptly at nine am, were respectful and polite and worked non stop until after 6:30pm to complete the job. These two young men were excellent and as far as this excessively unpleasant experience, the people I mentioned are the only ones who stand out as having any semblance of feeling of responsibility towards a client. Over the month it took to finally replace my system I spoke with tens of people. Christine, Carmine (management) and Kato and Jason (technicians) are the only standouts.As far as my repair contract. They have almost always shown up a done any and all repairs in the past. Hopefully I will be repair free for a while.

My husband was at church when he came. He then took a video to show me what was wrong. At 2am I saw water leaking from the bottom of my home's hot air heating unit. I called Homeserve service telephone number and was quickly connected with a human helper. I had 2 techs at my residence that day. The first one Jaden was very good, however he lacked some experience and could not get the cover back onto the heating unit correctly. When he called his dispatcher I got a time frame of either that day from 4 pm to 8 pm or monday same time. Neither one was acceptable. My time is valuable and when I book a service I expect the service to be complete within the allotted time frame. The second tech that did come after Jaden pursued the matter more was Rafael. He was able to put the cover on in a matter of minutes. Bottom line I was very happy with both techs. Not happy with the dispatch when I am given a time frame later in the day. In the future please send a senior repair tech that knows their way around the many different units out there.

I definitely asked if the installation was outsourced and the sales rep said no. Of course there were installers who were a 3rd party. With that said , the quote that was explained to me was different than what occurred as far as installation. I'm still waiting on a call to discuss. My hot water tank was give me issues where the pilot light wouldn’t stay lit. I called homeserve and they got a technician out the same day technician was amazing. The only thing that kept me from giving five stars is that none of the repairmen that show up to your door, show up with their Identification badge and picture displayed on their shirt.I would like to know who I’m letting into my home and it makes it easier to refer to someone by name when it’s in front of you. Receiving a receipt of services performed wouldn’t be a bad idea either, it makes it easier for me to refer back to the receipt of the last time a tech was at the house.

Lost heat in one room during a cold spell. I called in the morning and they had a technician at the house that same afternoon. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He was honest to say the problem is going to require an expensive part replacement, but for now wait and see if it malfunctions again. Everything was covered by the service contract, so no money out of pocket for me. The biggest thing was the prompt response and the peace of mind it provides.

A few years ago I had an emergency failure of my heating system on a very cold January day. After 2 visits to make repairs, the system suddenly and completely died. Within hours a salesperson visited my home, explained the options available, and recommended a very affordable plan. I was able to get on the spot financing, and they scheduled the installation in 2 days! They even provided space heaters for my bodily safety and to protect my pipes from freezing! Outstanding!!! We needed a new boiler for the house so we can have reliable heat and hot water. We got quotes from several other companies, but HomeServe had the best offer. They did more work for a lower price and were pleasant to deal with throughout the entire process.Every time they told us they would come at a scheduled time, they came right on time. The salesperson who gave us the quote was at the house right at 8 AM. The people who came to install the heating unit were at the house just before their scheduled 8 AM time.They told us the heating installation would take 1 - 1.5 days, so we were prepared to not have heat or hot water for a day. But they finished the installation in about 6 - 7 hours. We were delighted. We needed to have our home central air conditioning system replaced. The unit was from the 80's and while it worked, the engergy company was getting rich. :)We called in a number of contractors to get estimates, the numbers were all about the same, but the quote process was not. A few contractors gave us quotes by phone others arrived with quick estimates, but we felt most confident with HomeServe Plumbing & Heating of Long Island - Farmingdale, NY.First to arrive from HomeServe was Chris who gave us the quote, but not without carefully looking at the old system, electric panel and crawling into the attic. He was detailed and understanding of our current installation and needs (both functionally and financially). We battered Chris with our requirements :) and he stood up to our demands, but most importantly NEVER compromised on the long-term quality of what he was suggesting. That's really important with this kind of major investment, because really who needs a central air conditioner that is cheap, but breaks down when you need it most -- or is poorly installed to meet your needs and can't be maintained. Chris didn't allow that to happen -- but again this was just the quote process.Installation occurred about a week later (amazing -- and during the summer… other guys needed weeks .. one suggested calling back in the Fall).On install day Matt and Campbell showed up ready for action. I had no idea what to expect, but what I wanted was total excellence … and that's exactly what was delivered.I'm an old service guy myself, and I have always believed the motto; "Sales Sells Once, but Service Sells Forever". These guys at HomeServe, Farmingdale understand that thinking and it is evident in their work.Firstly, they were neat and clean, informing, methodical and totally respectful. They knew what to do and they worked as a team to get it done. For me, that's huge - As a customer, the most disgraceful and worrisome thing to see is workers arguing on the job while working on your precious home.It was truly impressive, how these two guys worked so closely as team, under not so pleasant conditions -- it was really HOT -- but they were apparently not affected and it was something wonderful and unique to just watch.But here is the most fantastic thing -- and if you're considering doing this kind of work watch out for this one….DO IT RIGHT, DON'T CUT CORNERS & MAKE IT SERVICEABLE..The old unit was put in kind of slapshot - the air exchanger unit (big thing in the attic that cools and blows air) sat on beams with thin pipe to send out the evaporated water and the conduit was just thrown around, with splitters and just taped together. Not only was it inefficient but it was not very servicable at all and potentially damaging to our home (if that thin pipe cracked). Things break - so service access and proper installation is essential and that's the most fantastic thing HomeServe did -- they made the total install servicable and solid. They repositioned the air exchanger, hanging it from the rafters, installing thick pipe to get out any water and they installed all the conduit through the rafters and off the attic floor. It was beautiful for this old service guy to see what they did up there (see attached photo). When completed they invited me up to the attic and while before I could barely move, now it was totally open - that's huge… it was amazing… they just did it that way because it was the right thing to do.Finally, on this day the Big Cheese - Tim Christie (owner) - made a surprise visit to inspect the work. He climbed up to the attic and gave his final ok…. and our AC is so perfect.. Sized right and installed to Service Standards….it makes me proud to write this review.There are a lot of other little important things that happened along the way - and I will stand as a customer reference anytime for these guys!  (I took lots of notes and photos to back up my words.)Thanks again to Chris, Matt, Campbell & (Carl for the added muscle to get the new unit up top) and Tim Christie.
